Olympic Qualifiers: Kenya in tough Pool A

The Kenya women volleyball team has been drawn in a tough Pool ahead of the 2016 Rio Olympic qualifiers that start in Yaounde Cameroon on Friday.

The five days' tournament has attracted seven African nations with Kenya ranked among the best favorites to win the Olympics berth. Other top  contenders include Tunisia, Algeria and host nation Cameroon .

Kenya will face Tunisia  and host team Cameroon in the first round of the Pool  matches at the Palais des Sport gymnasium in Yaoundé.

Kenya's first match will be against Tunisia on Saturday. Tunisia beat Kenya in Nairobi to win the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship ticket.

Pool B will comprise of Egypt, Algeria, Botswana and Uganda.

The best two teams in each pool will qualify to the semifinal where the winners book the tickets to Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, while the second and third of the tournament have another chance to qualify through the world Olympic qualification tournament.
