Nigeria players stage sit in over allowances, bonuses

Nigeria players were locked in a meeting for most of Tuesday morning due to a row over allowances and bonuses. Sources state the players are in disagreement with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) over the amounts they should be paid.

Winger Ahmed Musa was set to attend the pre-match press conference alongside coach Gernot Rhor but he was absent with the German coach saying he ‘remained behind for an important meeting’.

Meanwhile, the good news from the Nigerian camp is that striker Samuel Kalu has been passed fit and trained with the rest of the players after cardiology tests confirmed that he didn’t have a heart problem.

Kalu collapsed in training last Friday and was later said to be due to dehydration. He underwent further tests in Cairo on Monday.

“Kalu did an MRI in Cairo and now it is 100 percent confirmed that he is fit and will be available for the game. He has already started training. We are happy about it everybody was a little scared but now at least we are happy that he is okay,” coach Rohr said.
