Kenya's women volleyball team, The Malkia Strikers, on Sunday Opened their 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualification campaign with a 3-1 (23-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-22) win over perrenial rivals Egypt as the Africa Qualifying championships
commenced in Cameroon.
Guided by former Kenyan international Paul Bitok , The Kenyan stars are eyeying a return to the Olympic games after a 15 year hiatus. 2004 was the last time Kenya took part in Olympics held in Greece and lost all her pool matches to Brazil, Greece, Italy, Japan and South Korea.
Kenya's Malkia strikers will next face Botswana in their second match of the 2020 Tokyo volleyball qualification in Cameroon.
