Coach Japheth Munala

Kenya's women volleyball team will take on Tunisia in their opening match  on Saturday in Yaounde as   Malkia Strikers   chase the elusive Olympic slot.

Kenya has been drawn in Pool A  alongside host nation Cameroon and Tunisia who defeated the  Kenyan side in the finals of the 2014 World Championship qualifiers at Kasarani in Nairobi.

Kenya coach Japheth Munala has expressed confidence that the team is in the right frame of mind ahead of the tricky fixture " Thanks to our sponsors and  the federation back home  we have received very good and ample preparation ahead of this qualifiers and we look forward to start our campaign p[positively."

Munala however was cautious in his approach against a tactical side as he said ," Our Pool is very tough. Tunisia has always been a good side and one of the African teams that has shown tremendous growth. I am sure they have also come here for victory and they will not be push overs. We will approach the match with caution and  expect to limit errors while capitalizing on all good chances we get ." Munala added.

The tournament is expected to commence on Friday with three fixtures on the card.

The top two teams in each pool will qualify for the semi finals with the winner of the competition earning direct ticket to Rio Brazil for the 2016 Olympic Games.
