Harambee Starlets and Vihiga Queens star Jentrix Shikangwa is set to jet out of the country on Sunday as she heads to Turkey to ink a move with top tier side Fatih Karagümrük Sportif Faaliyetler.

The club made the announcement on Friday, with Shikangwa having played her last match for them last weekend. This comes just a week after goalkeeper Lilian Awuor also departed the club to link up with a team in the French top tier.

“I really feel proud as a coach to see that my players are making such moves. This will give the ones who remain motivation and belief to know that if they continue putting in the hard work, they will also excel,” said Benjamin Nyamunyamu, the Vihiga Queens head coach.

He added; “We have depth in the squad and I know there will be cover for them, but I am certain we will miss their quality and aggressiveness. But as a club we want to wish them all the best.”

Awuor and Shikangwa starred for Kenya’s Vihiga as they played in the inaugural CAF Champions League in Egypt last year. Shikangwa helped the team progress to the competition during the CECAFA regional qualifiers where she scored the title winning penalty and was named player of the tournament.
