Senegal will take on Benin at the June 30 Stadium on Wednesday while South Africa who eliminated hosts Egypt in the round of 16 will take on Senegal at the Cairo International Stadium.
The 2018 African Cup of Nations has finally drawn into the business end after the second round was completed on Monday night with Tunisia and Ivory Coast completing the final list of the tournament’s best eight teams.
While Ivory Coast saw off a stubborn Malian side 1-0 courtesy of a Wilfred Zaha goal, Tunisia needed penalties after extra time to beat Ghana 5-4. Caleb Ekuban missed Ghana’s penalties with Ferjani Sassi’s cool as ice penalty sealing the fifth for the Carthage Eagles.
Tunisia have now booked a date against surprise package Madagascar in the quarters. Madagascar also needed penalties to progress to the last eight, as they beat DR Congo in the round of 16 in Alexandria.
Ivory Coast have meanwhile booked a mouth watering tie against tournament favorites Algeria on Thursday in Suez.
