Kosgei smashes world record as Kenya bags double glory in Chicago
It was a colourful athletics weekend for Kenya as Brigid Kosgei smashes women world marathon record in Chicago to lead Kenya's double sweep.

Just hours after Eliud Kipchoge set a 1:59:40 marathon history in Vienna, it was yet another day of ecstasy for Kenyan athletes as Brigid Kosgei and Lawrence Cherono won the women and men titles at the Chicago Marathon on Sunday .
With a time of two hours, 14 minutes, four seconds, Kosgei made it even more thrilling for Kenya with a world record performance, shuttering the 16 year old record previously held by Paula Radcliffe.
Lawrence Cherono, winner of this year's Boston Marathon completed Kenya's double in Chicago with a 2:05:45 performance in the men's race in Chicago.
