Mungai Kiongera hopes he can make the best of his opportunity at Wazito FC after scoring his first goal for the club in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Tusker FC at the Ruaraka Complex. Wazito makes a return to the Kenyan Premier League after almost three years.
He has battled injury all through but believes he is up to the task at Wazito and will be back to his best.
“I am really pleased to have scored my first goal for the club. That scoring feeling is always great. I want to keep working harder and hopefully I can get back on top. The league is tough, but I am up to the task. The coach believes I me and is giving me chances to prove myself,” stated the forward.
The attacker who joined Wazito in mid season has played three matches in the league and one on the cup.
Head coach Stewart John Hall says he believes in the striker and that he will be back o the top.
“He is a quality player with a lot of experience. I know him well because I worked with him at AFC Leopards and I like his work ethic and discipline. He is working hard and we gave him a chance at the club. We told him we don’t have a big budget to sign him but we could give him a chance and he took the chance with minimal wages. I really hope he can get back on top,” Hall said of the striker.
