Kerr not underrating SS Assad
Gor Mahia boss Dylan Kerr has warned his boys not to underrate Coastal side SS Assad when the two sides clash in a FKF Shield first round tie in Mombasa on Sunday afternoon.
Kerr who will field most of his second squad members for the afternoon kick off believes the hosts will come in all guns blazing and has warned his players to expect an end-to end affair.
“This is like a final to them and we cannot afford to go in there underrating them. They want to show that they can beat the big boys and it is their platform to do that. The FA Cup is always interesting because the supposed smaller teams come to beat the big boys,” Kerr noted.
Six of his squad members are with the national team while there is a doubt on Meddie Kagere who has been unwell while Jacques Tuyisenge has returned after missing last week’s 3-3 draw with Sofapaka in Machakos.
“This is a tournament that we also want to win and it is important for us. It is up to the players to turn up and play like they want to win. We really have to give our best,” the tactician noted.
