Kerr, Willis Ochieng make peace
Coach Dylan Kerr and his keeper Willis Ochieng have buried the hatchet after a public altercation
Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has made peace with goalkeeper trainer Willis Ochieng after a meeting with the club’s leadership led by vice chairperson John Pesa on Tuesday evening
Kerr and Ochieng had a public altercation last Tuesday during their 2-1 loss against Bandari in Mombasa, and the management moved in swift to prevent any rifts widening. The club management says it was pleased with the amicable outcome of the reconciliatory meeting, maintaining their focus remains on retaining their league title.
“There was a misunderstanding between some members of the technical staff which lead to what happened Mbaraki. All parties involved have apologized to each other, to the team, to the club’s management, to all stakeholders and to Gor Mahia fan base at large,” Gor Mahia CEO Lordvick Aduda said on the club’s official website.
“It was necessary to hold such a meeting to understand what the problem was and probably find a good solution to it. We are glad we managed to handle it well and the technical staff will continue to work together without any problem like they have been doing,” he added.
Gor suffered their first loss of the season in Mombasa and obviously, tempers flared with the enthusiastic coach not known to shy off from making his feelings known.
Gor will look to throw both that incident and the loss behind them as they prepare to face Posta Rangers in a league fixture on Friday in Kisumu.
