Kenya to face Brazil and European Champions at the World Championships
National women volleyball team The Malkia Strikers have been drawn in a tough Pool D ahead of the 2018 World Championships to be held in Japan.
During the drawing of lots held this week at the Keio Plaza Hotel in Tokyo, Kenya was pooled alongside former Olympic champions Brazil, European Champions Serbia, Kazakhstan, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
The 24 teams taking part were split into four first round pools of six teams each for the tournament set to be held in the cities of Yokohama, Hamamatsu, Kobe, Nagoya, Osaka and Sapporo from September 29 to October 20 2018.
Kenya qualified for the World Championships in Japan after finishing second at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations held in Cameroon. Cameroon, who emerged as Africa champions have been drawn in a tough Pool A that also features hosts Japan, Netherlands, Argentina, Germany and Mexico.

POOL B: China, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria, Canada, Cuba
POOL C: United States, Russia, Korea, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Trinidad and Tobago
