Kenya's Malkia Strikers hammer Algeria in AFCON opener
Kenya with a perfect start at this year's Africa Cup of Nations volleyball in Cairo as they beat Algeria
The Kenya women volleyball team on Tuesday evening hammered Algeria in straight sets to set off a positive start at this year's Africa Cup of Nations that served off in Cairo.
The Kenyan side were in super form with a comfortable 3-0 performance of (25-19,25-21,25-21) and will need only another win of their three group matches to be sure of qualifying to the semis.
Kenya is drawn in Pool B that also has defending champions Cameroon , Botswana and Algeria.
The girls will next face Botswana in their second match on Wednesday before taking on Cameroon in the final group match .
Seven teams are taking part in this year's competition.
