Kenya showed class and maturity in handling pressure as they twice came from five points down to overcome a stubborn Cameroon on Sunday during  a hot Group A  fixture at the ongoing Africa Olympics qualifiers in Yaounde.

The African champions  defeated the home side  3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 25-09) having slumbered to give away the third set  when they lost 25-20.

With the win , Kenya finished as the best team in Group A  and will face  Egypt who finished in the second spot of Group B while Cameroon will take on Group A winners Algeria.

Cameroon began the match with an advantage taking a 3-0 lead and 8-6 lead by the first Technical Time out in the opening set.

Kenya however recovered well and won the set 25-22 and went ahead to dominate the second set which they won 25-23.

Kenya relaxed in the third set with a change in the playing unit allowing Cameroon to run away with a comfortable lead that brought their hopes back in the match  as they bagged the set 25-20.

Sensing a  likely  comeback by the host team , Kenya stepped up their attack and  pumped  home quick points as they hammered their opponents with a humiliating 25-09 win to take home their second victory at the championships.

In another match played on Sunday , Algeria led Pool B after they overwhelmed Egypt 3-1 (18-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-23) .

Seven teams are taking part in the competition but only the top two teams in each Pool qualified for the semi final. The winner will earn a direct ticket to represent Africa at the Rio Olympic Games in Brazil in August.
