Kenya Prison retain volleyball title at Kasarani

Kenya Prisons women team on Sunday retained their national league title with a 3-0 win over KCB  having won all their matches played on round robin at the Kasarani Indoor Arena Nairobi with a 100% record.

Prison and KCB have therefore earned the direct top spot to represent Kenya at next year's Africa Club Championships in Cairo Egypt .

It was however not an easy sail for the Josp Baraza side as KCB started the match looking the stronger side. By the second technical time out in the opening set , KCB were leading Prison with a six point gap and looked poised for the first set win of the afternoon.

But Kenya Prisons powered themselves back to the top with brilliant performances from Mercy Moim, Braxcides Khadambi, Joy Lusenaka and Edith Wisa.

The defending Champions  came back with a more sterling and stable performance  cruising to a thrilling 5-0 score line by the first technical time out .But KCB were not done yet as they pushed the  experienced side to a 30-32 finish.

Thereafter it was a commanding performance by the winners who won the final set  25-21 to take the crown back to the Magereza House Cabinets.

On their way to the  crown , Kenya Prisons edged Kenya Pipeline 3-0 in their first match on Friday then defeated DCI 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-16) on Saturday before crowning the tournament with a 3-0 win over KCB .
