Kenya junior Malkia Strikers set departure date for Slovenia

The Kenya women Junior volleyball squad will depart Nairobi on Friday for Slovenia ahead of the 3rd edition of the  world championships set to be held in Ljubljana and Maribor, Slovenia between September 10 and 17.

Kenya qualified for the World Championships Games late last year after finishing second behind Egypt at the Africa qualifiers held in Nairobi.

Coached by former international Catherine Mabwi , the 12 member squad will be accompanied by a technical bench that includes assistant coach Vernon Khainga, team manager Martin Makokha, physiotherapist Sarah Karongo and Kenya Academy of Sports CEO  Gordon Oluoch.

Among those who have made the cut include Kenya Prisons duo of Yvvone Wavinya and Anna Lowem who will be expected to power Kenya's attack.

Others are Joan Ngeywo, middle blocker Carolyne Sirengo Veronica Tanui, Faith Imodia, Edinah Mwombe, Doreen Marani, Yvonne Sinaida, Shyrine Jepkemboi, Beldine Akinyi and libero Celestine Nyongesa.
