Kenya cruise past Senegal to pick second win in Yaounde

Kenya women volleyball team picked their second win on Sunday as they continued their march towards Africa Cup title defense at the 2017 edition of the championships currently ongoing in Cameroon.

Following up on their opening 3-0 win over Nigeria on Saturday, Kenya coached by Japheth Munala picked another straight set win on Sunday past a hard fighting Senegal.

Outside hitter Mercy Moim and her Kenya Prison team mate Edith Wisa each picked 15 points for Kenya as the defending champions beat Senegal 25-21,28-26 and 25-15.

The Kenyan team however had to stage a remarkable recovery overturning a 24-19 lead by the Senegalese in the second set to finish the match without dropping a set with a 28-26 win.

Kenya will next face DR Congo on Monday hoping for a maximum reap  as they eye a final slot in a tournament that will see the top two finishers qualify for the 2018 World Championships to be held in Japan.

Senegal on the other hand will face Tunisia while hosts Cameroon will be against Algeria.
