Kenya American Football Federation keen to send team to World Games

Kenya American Football Federation needs financial boost to send a team to the second edition of the World Universities Games slated for June 1-11 in Monterrey, Mexico.

KAFF is moving aggressively to source for funds necessary to send a national university team to the Monterrey show. Kenya now adds to the list of probable teams that have expressed interest on taking part in the Federation of International Sports in Universities (FISU) that include Canada, Korea, Finland and Sweden.

American Football first premiered in the FISU World University Championships programme in 2013 through the application of International Federation of American Football and its president Mr. Tommy Wiking.

Elsewhere, the federation will also be looking to send the national team to the inaugural Africa Cup of Nations subject to getting adequate funding. The continental extravaganza has drawn Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, and hosts Morocco. Uganda is yet to show interest in the All-African experience of American Football.
