Kandie, Obiri victorious at KDF Cross Country

Obiri of Laikipia Air Base made a return to the KDF Championships after missing last year's event through injury, her time of  33 minutes, 25.1 seconds good enough for first place.

World Half Marathon record holder Kibiwott Kandie and Hellen Obiri were victorious at the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Cross Country championships at the Moi Air Base on Friday 29 January 2021.

The Embakasi based Kandie won the men's title in a time of  c29 minutes, 24.5 for victory, finishing ahead of Kahawa Garrison's Collins Koros who clocked 29:32.5 and Eric Kiptanui of Embakasi Garrison who claimed third place in 29:40.5.

Obiri of Laikipia Air Base made a return to the KDF Championships after missing last year's event through injury, her time of  33 minutes, 25.1 seconds good enough for first place. Her Laikipia teammate  JoyceChepkoech was second in 33:32.6 while Thika's Sheila Chepkurui claimed third place in 33:47.0
