Kenya once again displayed full dominance in Marathon as they clinched the men and women crowns during the 2019 New York City Marathon on Sunday.
Geoffrey Kamworor led the Kenyan dominance as he clinched his second title in New York with a time of 2:08:13 finishing ahead of compatriot Albert Korir (2:08:36) and Ethiopia’s Girma Bekele Gebre (2:08:38)
Debutant Joyciline Jepkosgei’s time of 2 hours 22 minutes 38 was the star attraction as she beat seasoned Mary Keitany, herself a four time champion in New York.
Keitany finished second in 2:23:32, followed by Ethiopia’s Ruti Aga in 2:25:51.
