Juju and intimidation claims during Gor vs Vihiga match

Saturday’s highly charged Kenyan Premier League match between Gor Mahia and Vihiga United at Moi Stadium in Kisumu had its share of drama.

Some Vihiga United fans who made it to the stadium were unhappy with the actions of a section of  Gor Mahia fans during the match.

“I don’t understand this. How can Gor Mahia fans armed with crude weapons access the pitch  section and their  Juju man be allowed to perform his acts at the goal post?,” Posed an irate Vihiga fan.

“KPL needs to enforce security rules so that fans and players of the opposing team feel safe during matches, “ He added while promising to revisit the issue when Gor visit Bukhungu stadium..

However, Gor Mahia fans claimed they were not armed but a case of losers crying wolf

“If one saw Gor Mahia fans with Rungus they can provide video or photo evidence to the right authority. Infact it was Vihiga who tried the “Africa Science” on us. One of our Bishops went to inspect the goal posts with an aim to neutralize any Juju. We are God fearing people therefore cannot allow people to use black magic on us,” noted the Gor Mahia fan.

“Some of us came to watch beautiful K’Ogalo football not focus on sideshows. It looks like some fans were not here for football but we understand them,” said another fan.

Rwandese Jacques Tuyisenge’s solitary strike settled the tie to send Gor Mahia back on top of the Kenyan Premier League log.

Two weeks ago, Gor Mahia cried foul as Esperance of Tunisia used all manner intimidation tactics to knock them out of the CAF Champions League.

The allegations of intimidations should provide an early warning to the Mashemeji derby organizers to prioritize on security.
