Governor Sonko flies Kenyan fans to Cairo ahead of Algeria match
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has supported 100 fans to head to Cairo to watch the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Live in Cairo
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Saturday flagged off the first batch of Kenyan fans who will be flying to Cairo to support the national soccer team Harambee Stars as they take on Algeria.
Kenya will play Algeria on Sunday 23rd 11:00 PM , this being the first time the national team is returning to the continental showpiece after 15 years.
Sonko was seen handing the fans bundles of cash at the airport as he flagged them off. " I will ensure I pay for your accommodation while you are in Cairo. Behave yourselves very well and fly our national flag with dignity as you support the team.Today 40 of you are leaving while I will be coming with 60 more fans on Sunday" He said.
Also present at the airport to see off the group of fans was former Kenyan vice president Kalonzo Musyoka who wished the team well in their campaign.
