Gor Mahia humble AFC Leopards in Mashemeji Derby
AFC Leopards received a 4-1 thrashing by Gor Mahia on Sunday during the Mashemeji Derby at Kasarani
It was a harsh day for AFC Leopards on Sunday as they suffered a 4 -1 trouncing by perennial rivals Gor Mahia during the Mashemeji derby played at Kasarani in Nairobi.
After a barren but eventful first half , Gislein Yikpe towered above the sluggish Ingwe defense to easily head home the opener for Gor Mahia in the 55th minute from a Ken Muguna Corner.
Gislein Yikpe was back to haunt Ingwe just ten minutes later with a cool strike as Gor Mahia stretched their lead by two goals in the 64th minute .
Miheso then added the third for the league leaders to complicate the mathematics for the AFC Leopards who came into the match with a good win form.
Although Tresor Ndikumana pulled a thrilling stunner for the sole goal for the blue boys, it was Gor Mahia who enjoyed the last laugh with a final goal within the final seconds to send the score line to 4-1 in honor of Gor Mahia who maintain their supremacy at the summit of the KPL log.
In other matches played on Sunday , Bandari were 0-1 losers in the hands of Ulinzi Stars at Afraha in Nakuru, Wazito were 2-1 losers to Sofapaka while Homeboyz handed Western Stima a 2-0 defeat in Bukhungu Kakamega.
