Flying start for Kenya volleyball teams in Mozambique

The national women Beach volleyball duo of Gaudencia Makokha and Naomi Too started  their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on a winning note on Friday  picking two straight victories  against Benin and Nigeria.

Kenya's women pair is in pool A alongside Mozambique, Mauritius, Sierra Leone and Benin while Pool B pits Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa , Morocco and Namibia.

Kenya's men's pair of Ibrahim Odour and Jimmy Mwaniki are drawn in Pool 'B' that also features  Tunisia, Sierra leone, South Africa and Nigeria. Men's Pool 'A' has Morocco, Rwanda, Mozambique, Mauritius, Benin and Sudan.

The Kenya men team posted mixed results winning one match against Nigeria and losing 0-2 to Tunisia.

On Saturday the women team will face Mozambique and Mauritius while the men's team take on South Africa and Sierra Leone.

Kenya 2-0 Nigeria (21-14, 21-14)


Kenya 2-0 Benin ( 21-12, 21-05)

Kenya 2-0 Siera Leone ( 21-12, 21-17.
