FKF Transition Committee to serve for two more months

The Committee is also expected to oversee the conclusion of the National Super League, with both the men and women’s Premier Leagues already over.

Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed has extended their tenure of the Football Kenya Federation Transition Committee by a further two months after their initial short spell lapsed last Friday.

At the same time, Retired Lt Gen. Maurice Oyugi will replace Former Chief Justice Aron Ringera as their chairman.

Vide a Gazette Notice on Saturday, the CS retained most of the members of the team which will be tasked with running football in the country.

“1. The mandate of the Transition Committee shall be to—

(a) conduct all the affairs of Football Kenya Federation in accordance with the Sports Act, 2013 and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Constitution;

(b) co-ordinate and ensure the smooth running of Football Kenya Federation operations including team preparations for all local and international sporting events; and

(c) co-ordinate and facilitate the validation of the FKF Draft Constitution.” The Gazette Notice signed by the CS reads.

The Committee is also expected to oversee the conclusion of the National Super League, with both the men and women’s Premier Leagues already over.

The lower tier leagues are being run by the FKF branches.
