FKF: It’s the responsibility of the Government to pay allowances

Football Kenya Federation on Tuesday claimed that it was the responsibility of the Government to pay national team players allowances.

Citing the Sports Act, FKF said that the Harambee Stars players will have their allowances settled soon.

“FKF wishes to put it on record that the Government, through the Ministry of Sports, Arts and Culture, in fulfilling its mandate as prescribed in the Sports Act 2013, has undertaken to pay all the allowances as soon as the financial and public spending procedures are concluded,” FKF said as it emerged that the players were left even with no fare home after their Sunday game against Mauritius in Nairobi.
