Everton lands in Dar, Rooney to lead charges against Gor Mahia

Wayne Rooney was the star attraction among hundreds of fans who welcomed English Premier League side Everton FC to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Wednesday ahead of their clash with Kenyan football giants Gor Mahia FC on Thursday.
Apart from Rooney who rejoined the club this week, new Everton FC signings who made it to the trip are Davy Klaassen and Michael Keane.
The 31-year old Wayne Rooney is expected to feature for 45 minutes as per the head coach Koeman.
Everton Coach Koeman said: “This is our first friendly and everybody will be involved for 45 minutes in the game.”
The 15-time Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia arrived on Tuesday and had a feel of the renovated 60,000-capacity National stadium in Tanzania, Dar es Salaam.
Gor Mahia won the honor to play against Everton after winning the recently organized SportPesa Super Cup in Tanzania after edging rivals AFC Leopards in the finals.
