Debutantes shine as volleyball league serves off in Bungoma

It was a positive day for national league debutantes as the Kenya Volleyball Federation League served off in Bungoma at the Air Strip grounds on Friday.

Kenya Defense forces women team, Equity men team and DCI all posted wins on the opening day as the chase for the national crown commences.

Last year’s bronze medalists Kenya Ports Authority –KPA-  were among the big winners of the day as  picked a 3-1( 25-21,25-21,25-27,25-21)  win against their Mombasa counterparts Mombasa Prisons .

Despite falling to KCB in their second match , new comers DCI   beat hosts and  league returnees Bungoma County 3-1(26-24,21-25,25-20,25-19).

In other matches also played on Friday , Kenya Defence Forces  Saw off improved Western Prisons 3-1(25-21,25-23,23-25,25-16) and new comers Equity Bank  came from a set down to overwhelm Vihiga county 3-1( 18-25,25-18,25-16,25-15).

Debutants Ulinzi beat Ashton3-0(25-15;25-22,27-25) as Bungoma County recovered from their first  loss against  new comers DCI  to defeat Western Bombers   3-0(25-17,25-21,25-15) in the local derby.

League newcomers Nakuru won against Vihiga County 3-0 (25-17,25-21,25-14) as KDF  men recorded their second win of the day 3-1(28-26,25-14,18-25,25-12) over Nakuru.
