Chudasama, Cherotich in super shot victories
Para rifleman Bhaveet Chudasama and Marianne Cherotich beat a rich field of 21 to win shooting competition

Para rifleman Bhaveet Chudasama and Marianne Cherotich beat a rich field of 21 to win the men and women’s categories of the monthly Air Pistol shooting competition held last weekend at the Kenya Regiment Rifle Club, Lang’ata.
Both Chudasama and Cherotich made tremendous improvement from the March shoot to earn the top spots.
Chudasama improved his March score (516) by carding 534 points at the indoor facility to floor top seeds Shitul Shah and Idris Kasmani. Once again the top spot proved elusive for the Kenya Shooting Sports Federation Air Weapon captain Shitul as Chudasama narrowly defeated him. The former finished second after raking in 531 points.
Kasmani, the March shoot winner had to be contended with a bronze medal in the men’s category for downing 522 points. General Service Unit’s marksmen David Kirui and Sanford Otundo made the first five with 490 and 483 points respectively. Others who shoot in the men’s cluster are Francis Kinyua (478), Sandeep Gujral (470), Elvis Ruita (452), Peter Muli (444) and Maurice Morara (428).
Cherotich garnered 525 points to win back-to-back titles in the women’s class. In the month of March, she topped the ladies' competition with 512 points and her training sessions have paid off. Cherotich once again led the duo of Linet Owiti and Doreen Okiri who shared spoils with 514 points each to the podium.
Jane Wanjiru downed 498 points as Pricilla Wangui shot 471 to seal to five positions. Closing the top 10 places were Rebecca Kerubo (438), Sabilah Yawetsi (420), Belinda Akoth (408), Agnes Wangechi (393) and Margaret Njoroge (378)
