Kenyan champions Gor Mahia welcome Algeria’s USM Alger in their second CAF Confederations Cup group D match at the renovated Kasarani Stadium on Wednesday 16th May from 7pm Kenyan time.
Confederations of African Football (CAF) has appointed three Mali referees to oversee the highly anticipated clash. Mahamadou Keita will be the center referee with fellow countrymen Moriba Diakite and Drissa Kamory Niare as 1st assistant referee and 2nd assistant referee respectively.
Though CAF still lists Machakos Stadium as the venue for the match, Kasarani has been approved to host the match.
USM Algers fired the warning shots by thrashing Yanga of Tanzania 4-0 in their first Group D match as Gor Mahia held Rayon Sports of Rwanda to a 1-1 draw in Kigali.
Gor Mahia will warm up for the clash with a friendly against English Championship side Hull City on Sunday 13th at Kasarani Stadium.
On the same day, Kenyan referee Davies Omweno will be in charge of the other Group D fixture where Young Africans (Yanga) hosts Rayon Sports at the National Stadium in Dar Es Salaam.
Omweno will be assisted by Helder Martins De Carvalho, Ivanildo Meirelles De O Sanche Lopes, fellow Kenyan Gilbert Cheruiyot and Wilson Valdmiro Ntyamba.
