Bitok warns against Complacency as Kenya goes for Olympic ticket
Kenya to face Nigeria in their final Qualifying match as they hope to clinch an Olympic slot in Cameroon
Kenya's hopes of qualifying to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games lies in the mental strength of the Malkia Strikers' players as they take on Nigeria in their final qualifying match in Cameroon on Thursday.
Kenya must win the match against Nigeria to secure the sole Africa slot to the Olympic games with a hope of ending the 15 year wait.
Having won all their opening three matches against Egypt , Botswana and hosts Cameroon,Kenya is the only team yet to face defeat at the championships and coach Paul Bitok has warned against complacency even as they face less ranked Nigeria.
"The match against Cameroon was one of kind, it was a battle of titans! It was against one of our arch rivals. While I commend my team for getting us closer to a qualification spot, I would like to give credit to Cameroon. They saw us fight to the wire!"
"Whereas this match is in the past now, I would like to urge my team to keep their heads high as we have an important game against Nigeria. We must not relent, we should avoid complacency by all means as our opponent is preparing accordingly.Great thanks to all players and staff and all Kenyans.Until victory always!"Bitok noted.
