Violet Wanyonyi’s lone goal has sent Bishop Njenga Girls to the Safaricom Chapa Dimba National finals as the Lugari team beat Shinyalu youth Academy 1-0 in the western regional finals.

The two teams qualified for the finals during the two days’ regional championships held at the Kanduyi stadium in Bungoma.

Bishop Njenga will join other regional champions for the finals to be held at the Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega I the final week of March.

Speaking after guiding his team to the nationals on Sunday, Bishop Njenga captain Violet Wanyonyi noted that, “There has been very good competition and the matches have given us good preparation ahead of the finals. We are excited to have qualified for the finals but we believe this now is the beginning of a tougher journey but we are equal to the task and ready for the finals.”

In the boys finals, Mukumu boys will face Lugari Blue Saints with only one team qualifying g for the finals.

The regional winners will each walk home with 200,000 cash prize.
