Big boost for Kenya's Hockey Youth Development Programme

An Indian based Sports equipment manufacturer Alfa has boosted Kenya's Hockey youth development programme.

The Program was boosted by a donation of 100 Hockey sticks to the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) Youth development programme which is in its second year since inception.

The KHU in conjunction with Centre for Multiparty in Democracy (CMD) started a youth development programme targeting upcoming players aged below 18 years which is being coordinated by Nanjit Singh Teddy under tutelage of coach Tom Olal at City Park Stadium.

Alfa brand Chief executive officer Manoj Doshi said the donation was a partnership between the company and KHU to develop the game in Kenya from the grassroots.

Doshi said Nairobi Sports House were their official agents in Kenya and will put the country’s players in a loyalty scheme of rewarding each player loyal to their brand with his/her own custom made hockey stick.

KHU chairman Nahashon Randiak thanked Alfa for the gesture and said with the support from such like partners they will roll out the programme to other parts of the country.
