Alumirah unveiled as Harambee Starlets Head Coach

Commenting on Alumira’s appointment, Ringera said, “ The recruitment process has been very transparent and competitive. Alex will be assisted by Benter Achieng and Anne Aluoch.”

The FKF Caretaker Committee has unveiled Alex Alumirah as the new Head Coach of the Kenya Women’s National Football Team, Harambee Starlets.

The 38 year old was unveiled by FKF Caretaker Committee Chairman Justice (Rtd) Aaron Ringera at the Nyayo National Stadium on Monday 24 January 2022.

Commenting on Alumira’s appointment, Ringera said, “ The recruitment process has been very transparent and competitive. Alex will be assisted by Benter Achieng and Anne Aluoch.”

Ringera further added that Alumirah’s mandate would run until the end of the FKF Caretaker Committee’s mandate in May 2022.

Alumirah, speaking after his appointment, said, “It is a great honor and I look forward to guiding this team to the best of my ability, and with the full support of the FKF CC, we shall guide this team to AWCON qualification.”

He also spoke about his philosophy, saying, “ "I have a responsibility to develop a philosophy for the women's national football team and I will liaise with coaches to ensure that there is an elaborate plan for women's football, a plan for posterity."

His appointment comes at a time when the Harambee Starlets are bracing for their do or die home and away AWCON 2022 qualification clash against neighbors Uganda. The winner of this clash will qualify for the AWCON 2022 which will be held in Morocco.
