Redefined Bandari ready for a KPL comeback

Bandari FC will be looking to redeem their fortunes in the Division One League targeting a top flight comeback in 2013. The team was relegated from the Kenyan premier League last season in a harsh way after finishing 15th on the league table. They lost their final match and follower relegation bond city Stars won their match to escape relegation within a thin of a tooth with now topflight eluding the coast region the club will be working harder to reclaim the lost glory and bring something to smile about to football lovers in the region.

The ports Authority side will be eyeing a quick return to top flight football despite losing some of their key players including top goalkeepers Ivo Mapunda and Wycliffe Kasaya to Gor Mahia. They recruited seven players ahead of the new season.

Speaking to Michezoafrika.com, coach Shedu reiterated his desire to lead the team back to the Kenya Premier League next season. “I was really disappointed we were relegated but I believe the team will perform well. last season we faced a lot of challenges but I am glad we have identified what was ailing us and are working towards getting a permanent solution. My boys gave their all but failed to remain in the KPL and am sure with the experiences we have from the KPL Last Season, we have an angle in the race for promotion.”

“Our main competition will come from Mahakama FC, K.R.A and Ligi Ndogo.Those three teams will give us a ran for our money but I trust we have the experience and determination to clinch that coveted promotion spot.” He added

The league that kicks off on the 25th and 26th February has been divided into two zones: the Eastern zone and the western zone. The Eastern teams comprises of teams from Nairobi to the Far East of the coastal region some of the teams including: Mahakama FC, Nairobi Stima FC, Magongo Rangers FC, Ligi Ndogo, Kariobangi Sharks FC, KSL Thola glass FC, Congo United, BIDCO and Iron Strikers FC that zone has been piped to be very competitive than the western zone.
