Ligi Ndogo is the team to watch- Adero

Last year’s KFF nationwide League runners up Ligi Ndogo is gearing up for the FKF Division One league that kicks off on the 25th February. The team that missed out on a promotion slot to the KPL last season will have all eyes looking at topflight league though amidst stiff competition. Ligi Ndogo finished 2nd behind Muhoroni Youth that was promoted to the KPL.

Former Harambee Stars Team Manager Elly Adero sees the Ngong road based outfit as one of the toughest teams in the league this season.

“It is a great team. They have recruited well and am positive they will stage a good performance this season. Having watched them last season, I must say they have some very good technical experience. They work like a team and very confident on and off the ball and considering they missed promotion by a whisker last season they will be out to prove their critics wrong.” Said Adero.

Ligi Ndogo, a senior team to the Ligi Ndogo junior soccer academy, will be taking part in the Eastern Zone Division One League that comprises of teams from Nairobi, Eastern, Central and Coast region. This has been labeled as the toughest zone compared to the Western Zone with former KPL sides Mahakama, Bandari, Congo United also in the Eastern Zone.

The team has recruited heavily with former AFC Leopards player Harry Gentle among the top rated players to join the side.

“Bandari and Congo United are also very good teams and considering they were relegated from the premier league, they are also some of the heaviest challengers in the league this season. Most people trend to ignore the likes of KRA and Mahakama; it will be an entertaining Division One season and definitely more competitive.” Added Adero.
