Veteran Duncan beats Tundo to win Voi rally

Veteran driver Ian Duncan emerged victorious during the third round of the KCB Mobi Bank Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) held in Voi.The six times Kenyan champion  (1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2000 and 2011) needed 1.29.34 to carry the day ahead of 2012 champion Carl Flash Tundo who finished  second in  a time 1.30.00.

It was an important win for Duncan who crashed out after experiencing an accident in the Nyeri rally where he collided with an ambulance. In third was 2008 champion Baldev Chager in his (EVOX) who is also the season opener winner in Kajiado. He registered 1.30.47.

The event is being organized by East African Safari Rally (EASR) and co-sponsored by iWay-Africa, ICEA Lion Group and ALS.

Notable absentee was the double 1999 and 2010 Champion Alastair Cavenagh who is  away competing in a grueling Iron Man competition (swim 1.9km, cycle 90km plus half marathon combined) to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis in Mallorca, Spain.

During the Mount Kenya experience, Tundo and his navigator Tim Jessop racked up a maximum 80 points on the ex-Lola Varlaque Mitsubishi lancer evo9.
