Raaji Bharij Navigated by Geoff Mayes driving a Mitsubishi EVO 9 opened a surprise overnight lead on day one of the KCB Advantage Banking Rally at Sportsman Arms Hotel in Nanyuki.Carl Tundo who had started with a good lead in the opening 18 kilometer stretch (11.41 minutes ) finished second.

First off the ramp on Fiday was Azar Anwar, the three times kenya champion who is being navigated by Julius Ngige in an ex-Alastair Cavenagh Mitsubishi EvO8.He hwoeevr did not feature I the top five on day one.

The course was however affected by heavy rain that hit the region immediately after flagging off at the KCB Nanyuki Branch on Friday morning handing the teams a taste of wet and muddy conditions. The rally was flagged off by KCB Director Treasury, Shalin Gudka.

On Friday the second day of competition starts at Sportsman Arms Hotel and will traverse Loldaiga, Timau and Gathiuru region before finishing at the Sportsman Arms.

Nanyuki rally was last held in 2009 when Baldev Chager completed a rare double navigated by the late Farakh Yusuf.
