It’s all set for the start of the eight-leg KCB Mobi Banking KNRC 2013 Series that will kick off in Kajiado and its in environs. The first leg will be flagged-off on Sunday 27th at the Kenya Motor Sports Club South C Nairobi with Konza and Kajiado being the competitive stages.

The rally which has so far attracted 55 drivers was on Tuesday morning given a major boost  as Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB)  sponsored the 2013   (KNRC ) season  to a tune of Ksh. 39.6Million.The other legs will be in Voi, Nyeri, Nakuru, Safari Rally, Kisumu Nairobi and Mombasa.

Reigning KNRC Division1 champion Carl "Flash" Tundo and his Dalbit teammate Alastair Cavenagh, Baldev Singh Chager, Peter Horsey, Quentin Mitchell, Azar Anwar will be drivers to watch out for.

Division 2 class is also anticipated to be competitive with Jassi Chatthe from Kisumu joining this group. Others in the Division 2 class are Manvir Singh Baryan and Izhar Mirza among others. Onkar Rai is also looking forward to the event with great expectations.

Dennis Mwenda hopes to take the fight to two times champion Leonardo Varese, James Kirimi and Gurmit Thethy in the 2wd.

Speaking during the launch,  Kenya motorsport federation chairman Dave Macharia said they are targeting 65 drivers come close of registration on Saturday.

“Being a season opener a lot is expected from the federation. We believe that this year we will achieve the same high standards just like last season. I want to appeal to spectators to be very vigilant to avoid off scene ugly incidences.” He said.

He said there will be no new entry though there will be a number of drivers who will ride in new vehicles.

On her part KCB marketing and advertising manager Lisa Karanja said the bank will be working to get more involved in all sports in this year.

"We shall continue with our ongoing partnership with professional golfers of Kenya for the east Africa Tour, Athletics Kenya cross country series, and national league sponsorship in all KCB teams. Our aspiration is to see sports growth.” She said.

The famous Andy's Corner stretch in Kajiado has been designated as the spectator point for KCB Kajiado Rally.

The start of the 32km- Andy’s Corner stage- is situated 7 kilometers from the highway junction

The rally starts from the Clubhouse at 8.00am with the Ceremonial Finish is from at 5.00pm at the  Kajiado Service Park. The Prize Giving will be the Finish venue at Kajiado Service Park
