Coast based 2WD 2012 series champion Nadeem Kana navigated by James Mwangi have vowed to come out stronger to defend their title in the upcoming rally season.

The two confirmed they will not be upgrading to a different category and will stick with their Subaru Impreza machine as the Kenya National Rally Championship new season kicks off in Konza and Kajiado on January 27.

“Last season was awesome to us; we defeated big names like Leo Varese. Many people are asking whether we are moving to another category but it is a big NO for the moment. We want to retain our title.” He said.

“We have made few changes on our machine, especially after the conclusion of the Guru Nanak rally. All I can say is we are in good condition ready to hit the road.” He added.

The winners of Nakuru, Mombasa and Kisumu events last year will be closely watching drivers like Nanyuki Rally winner Dennis Mwenda whom he described as strong contender for his title.

“Of course we will be seeking to have clean runs   hoping not to crash out of the race. Rally drivers are lining to dethrone us, but we have the same spirit from last season to start on the high.” Said navigator James Mwangi

Meanwhile entries for the Konza and Kajiado rally opened on Monday, January 14 at KMSF offices. Closing date of entries will be Monday January 21.
