Maseno taking on Kamusinga in the semis

Maseno High School coach Paul Otula does not expect his side to win the finals of the boys’ basketball in the term one KSSSA games being hosted at Mangu High School.

Otula was speaking after his side beat Kamusinga from Nzoia 66-37 on Friday afternoon in the semi final match after which they will face Upper Hill School on Saturday in a much waited finals. “As much as I am going to prepare my boys psychologically for the match I really don’t expect to win.”

Otula had stated before their match against Upper Hill on Thursday in the pool stages that they would lose against the Metropolitan side, which came to happen as they were beaten 74-43 but he said this time round it would be different.

“Yesterday the boys had a bit of stage fright since to them they were facing celebrities plus players at the same time this time I hope it will be different as they would have gotten used to it.”

While concluding Otula mentioned the fact that Upper Hill were playing in the KBF Division One league, they had the advantage of experiencing the big stages and it would favor them, “they have vast experience and am sure it would work in their favor.”

Earlier Ronny Owino the Upper Hill Coach had stated that he did not expect an easy game against Maseno and that he would not let his players take anything for granted despite beating Maseno before in the same tournament.
