Kakamega High School rugby coach Mike Ashimosi  has denied claims that some of his players were over age in the just concluded term one KSSSA rugby games that were held at the Mangu High School.

Kakamega High retained their title after they beat St. Mary’s Yala 18-3 in the finals played on Saturday to make it three in a row

“I want to be very clear that none of my players were above the required age, those are just baseless rumors,” Said Ashimosi.

On  the game Ashimosi  says was pleased with his side’s performance stating that they will need to spruce up on some areas before they head to  the East African finals.

“It was a hard final but I am happy that we won. What we are going to do is to work a bit harder in order to correct the few mistakes that we had before we head to Uganda.”

His counterpart Timothy Okulu from St. Mary’s coach also hailed a good performance from both team but criticized the state of the pitch.

Okulu said: “I have coached for 19 years and I have never seen such a pitch, our game is always a flowing game and the wet grounds prevented us from doing that anyway it was a good match.”
