Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo excited with Sony move
Former Tusker FC Coach Sammy “Pamzo” Omollo has finalized talks with Sugar millers Sony Sugar and will start his tenure as the new Sony Sugar Coach immediately. Zedekiah Otieno had been the Coach of the Sugar millers for the past season but he parted ways with the club at the end of the season.
Sony had a bad year in 2012 as they finished out of the top 8 bracket.
Omollo who joins the side after his short contract at relegated Oserian ended says he is excited with the new move.
“I am very happy to get this new challenge in a different environment. As a coach it will add more experience and challenges to me and it is part of growth.” Pamzo told michezoafrika.com.
“Sony has been a middle table team and my biggest aim is to make them rise higher and be among the best eight teams in the league. It is not an easy task but I am ready for the challenge,” Pamzo adds.
The tactician says he aims at refreshing the team and bringing five new players before the start of the new season.
“The company wants the team to have a manageable number of 25 players. I have talked to the technical bench that was there last year and we have agreed they should cut down the number to 20 players. I have five players in mind that I hope to bring to the team. I have finished talking to some while I am still in talks with others,” notes the former Tusker FC Coach.
