Newly appointed AFC Leopards coach James Nandwa, has promised to do his best in his new post to help the club move forward and achieve success.
The Harambee Stars assistant coach was appointed on Tuesday to replace sacked Luc Eymael and was unveiled on Wednesday at the team’s training in Nairobi. He immediately took the team for his first training ahead of the Gotv Shield cup pre quarter match against Chemelil Sugar over the weekend.
While speaking after the training, Nandwa says he is aware of the heavy task which lies ahead of him as he takes a club with a slim chance of winning the Kenyan league.
“We are looking forward to taking this huge task ahead of us; we have over eight league matches to fight for. We just have to give it our all.”He said.
The new coach said AFC Leopards is a heavy club with big ambitions and a wonderful history which has to be guarded while ensuring they go back to winning ways and win trophies.
“At the end of the season we want to look back and see what we have achieved. To start with, we need to talk to the players to build their mental focus so they remain committed to the assignments ahead.” He said.
The coach will be assisted by Mickey Weche until the end of the season.
