All set for Maputo as Gor release final squad

Gor Mahia coach Anaba Awonoh has released his final list of 18 players who will travel to Mozambique for the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup match against hosts Ferroviario.The match will be played on Saturday in Maputo.

The team of 18 players and 9 officials will depart Nairobi on Friday morning at 7:00AM for a four hour flight that arrives in Maputo on Friday at 11:00AM.

Among those to miss the trip include George Midenyo, Hugo Nzangu and Edwin Lavatsa who are out with injuries.Striker Anthony Balotieno Nyangor is also out of the team after making his debut on Sunday against Thika United.Defender Donald Mosoti will miss the match since he was not registered for the CAF champion's league.

“We will hold a light training session at the match venue on Friday afternoon. We appreciate the support we have got from friends of Gor Mahia who have contributed immensely towards our travel plans.” Said Bwana the secretary General.

Captain Jerim Onyango speaking in Nairobi on Friday said his team is confident of a good outing. “Playing away in the first match is advantageous for us. We just need to hold strong and come back with an away goal. That will boost our return leg.” Said the skipper.
