Two days before they travel to Maputo for their CAF confederations Cup tie against Mozambique’s Ferroviaro, Gor Mahia’s travelling contingent has been boosted by a cash donation of 5,000 USDs (400,000 shillings) from Mumias Sugar MD and Harambee Stars Management board chair Dr. Evans Kidero.
With 25 players and officials expected to be in the travelling team, each one of the team members and officials will have 200 USDs (16,000 shillings) to spare for their free time shopping in the Mozambique City of Maputo.
“Kidero visited the team’s training camp this morning at the Highway secondary school and gave us the cash for pocket money. We are very grateful for the gesture from Mr. Kidero and we promise we will not let Kenyans down”, said George Bwana, the team’s secretary General.
Bwana also told Michezoafrika.com that the team will be having breakfast with the Prime Minister on Thursday morning at his Harambee house office, citing it as a major morale booster for the team headed out to represent the nation.
