Forward Davis Wanagwe scored with three minutes to full time as defending champions Nairobi Simba were held to a 3-3 draw by Green Sharks on Saturday evening.

Sharks, who have proved to be a hard nut to crack for the reigning champions, maintained their reputation scoring as early as in the 7th minute via a Fidelis Wafula solo goal.

The champions had a swift response with quarter an hour of play as George Mutira powered in an Amit Rajput’s short corner to rattle the boards with the leveler.

In the second half, Sharks scared the champions with two quick goals in a space of five minutes via Andrew Young and Captain Leon Magomere.The goals coming in the 38th and 43rd minutes respectively.
 

Linus Sang – Shark’s custodian was the star man for Sharks parrying away a series of attacks from a consistent swarm of Simba attacks.

With 20 minutes to the end of action, defender Wilson Otieno brought Simba back with a well taken loop from a Rajput short corner. Wanangwe scored the equalizer three minutes to the end of the match.

Simba defender Wilson Otieno said that was one of the most difficult match against a strong side, “I guess most players came from that match with bruises. They were very physical but we are happy with the hard fought point." he said
