Telkom with 7-0 win over Egyptian Shams in Zimbabwe

Kenya’s representatives at the 2014 Africa hockey club championships Telkom Orange on Saturday picked a crucial 7-0 win against Shams of Egypt as the Africa Cup tournament kicked off in Zimbabwe.

Telkom Orange who are the defending national league champions have won the African edition for the last two years and are out to defend the same this year.

Caroline Guchu scored a brace on the day with other goals coming through Captain Betsy Omalla, Barbara Simiyu , Hellen Chemtai, Terry Juma and Lilian Aura.

“It was a good start and we hope to sustain the momentum. So far so good everyone is in good shape.” Said Barbara Simiyu from Bulawayo.

 Kenya will not be represented in the men’s edition as Kenya Police and Kisumu Simba pulled out in the last minutes.
