Strathmore vs Wazalendo

Strathmore Gladiators on Saturday fought from a goal down to beat Wazalendo 3-2 in an explosive season premier league opener at the City Park.

Anchored on the field of play by their coach Meshack Senge, Strathmore overturned a 0-1 halftime trail to take a quick lead with goals in a span of two minutes.

Wazalendo had taken the lead in the 25th minute courtesy of Fidhelis Kimanzi’s lovely goal.

Clayson Luvanda drew parity for the host team in the 43rd minute just two minutes before Festus Onyango put the Gladiators in the lead.

Onyango would again hit the board with a clinical finish in the 59th minute guiding Strath to a comfortable lead.

Wazalendo pulled a goal back in the 67th minute as the match ended 3-2.

Strathmore coach Meshack Senge while speaking after the match praised the performance of his team saying, “That was a good show by my team and I am proud of their performance especially considering six of my players today had never played in the Premier league before.” He said.

“Wazalendo is a good team and they fight to the last minute. I am glad my team held on to our game plan.” He added.
