After 13 rounds of matches this season, USIU and Strathmore Universities women teams are both on 31 points and this evening’s clash could play as a crucial decider on who wins the second spot to represent Kenya at the next edition of the Africa Club Championships.

The two teams go head to head starting 5:30 PM later Thursday evening at the City Park. Strathmore finished in second place last season to qualify for the championships that took place in Uganda early in 2014 where they finished second losing to Telkom in the finals.

Telkom Orange with 39 points from same number of matches (13) with two to go have an unassailable lead and have confirmed their title recapture this season. They play Strathmore and Kenyatta University this weekend in their final two matches.

Strathmore coach Meshack Senge has said his team is ready for the USIU Challenge and they have prepared well for the encounter with an eye on the club championships.

“It is going to be a hard match against USIU but we have prepared a good shift and we are ready for the day.” He said.

The winner of the match will have 34 points and with a good chance of finishing in second place.
