National men hockey team coach Meshack Senge is expected to name the final team that will be taking part in next week’s Africa Nations Cup to be played in Nairobi.

The final team of 18 is then expected to head to the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani for residential camp before and during the championships. That commence on September 26th to October 6th at the City Park Stadium

Senge’s midfield options will be the hardest task for the coach where he has to choose at least seven from the crowded field of over 10 experienced players.

International Barnabas Odhiambo who plays in the Italian league will most definitely make it to the team, Willis Okeyo, Oliver Echenje, Felix Okoth, Samuel Wokila all of Kenya Police Allan Iningu, Brian Musasia and Leon Magomere from Strathmore University will be the other players in contention for the final Slots.

Forward, the coach will mix experience and young blood with the deadly young duo from Nairobi Simba Davis Wanangwe and George Mutira expected to make the cut. The ever reliable Moses Cheplaiti of Police Francis Esikuri and the experienced Zack Aura will be the other attacking options to choose from.

Defenders: Richard Birir, Brian Saina, Samuel Ounga, Wilson Otieno, Constant Wakhura, Kenneth Nyongesa, Hosea Waucho.

Midfielders: Willis Okeyo, Oliver Echenje, Felix Okoth, Samuel Wokila, Allan Iningu, Brian Musasia, Leon Magomere , Barnabas Odhiambo.

Forwards: Davis Wanangwe, George Mutira, Moses Cheplaiti, Francis Esikuri, Zack Aura
